01What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. Equivalent technologies exist, such as local storage (localStorage) or session storage (sessionStorage), which serve similar functions.
Some are essential for the service to work or to remember functional preferences; others are used to measure audiences or show advertising. KiteConnect currently uses only technologies from the first group.
02Technologies currently in use
Access session: when you sign in, the token that keeps your session open and allows it to be renewed is saved in the browser's local storage by our authentication provider. It persists until you sign out or delete the site's storage, and it is essential for accessing your private area.
Email verification memory: during registration, the email address pending confirmation is temporarily saved in the browser so we don't have to ask you for it again. The verification code itself is never saved.
Draft recovery: while you write a kite, changes not yet confirmed in the cloud are temporarily saved in the browser's local storage so that no work is lost. These entries are associated with your account and the specific kite, expire after 24 hours, are removed as soon as the cloud save is confirmed, and are deleted when you sign out.
Interface preferences: on some screens, the state of navigation elements — such as a sidebar being open or closed — is remembered. This preference is saved in our own functional cookie with a limited duration.
03Technologies we do not currently use
KiteConnect does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies or commercial profiling cookies.
We do not use third-party analytics tools or external measurement scripts: there is no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Hotjar or equivalent technology.
As no optional technology is enabled, the product currently does not require a cookie consent banner or a settings panel: there is nothing non-essential to switch on or off.
04How to manage browser storage
You can view, block or delete cookies and local storage from your browser's privacy settings.
Bear in mind that deleting the storage associated with KiteConnect will sign you out and may discard local drafts not yet saved to the cloud.
05External services
When you access an external service through a link, such as Stripe's billing portal, that service operates on its own domain and applies its own policies and technologies.
06Updates to this policy
If in the future we incorporate non-essential technologies — analytics, measurement or advertising — we will update this policy and enable the corresponding consent mechanism before activating them.
Each version of this document is identified by a version number and a date.
