Frequently asked questions
What people usually ask
Short, straightforward answers. If something is missing, it will keep appearing here as the product grows.
The essentials
- What exactly is a kite?
- A kite is the account of a real or longed-for experience, where words are the main thread, while other forms of expression — illustrations, drawings, photographs, audio or even handwritten notes and texts — can work as poetic extensions of that account and of what you want to express.
- Do I always have to publish something?
- No. You can use KiteConnect simply to create and keep your kites. Many will never leave your private sky. Their authors decide, and that is exactly as it should be.
- Who can read what I write?
- While a kite stays as a draft or in your private area, only you can access it. If you decide to send it for review so that it can fly in the KiteConnect sky, the Guardians can access that version for the sole purpose of reviewing it before publication.
Contact and consent
- Can anyone write to me without permission?
- No. The unit of connection on KiteConnect is the kite, not the profile. If someone recognises or resonates with your kite, they can send you a connection request, and they must always give their reasons. As the author, the channel only opens if you accept, and you can always close that connection later whenever you wish.
- Can I name other people?
- In your private texts you can write naturally, names included. What we do not allow is using kites to publish or provide third parties' contact details, such as email addresses, phone numbers or other identifiers meant to locate a person.
Account and data
- Can I delete what I have written?
- Yes. You can delete your kites whenever you decide. This does not depend on any paid plan.
- How much does it cost?
- KiteConnect has a Free plan and a Premium plan. With the Free plan you can create and keep as many kites as you like and have one kite flying or in review at a time. Premium costs €9.99 per month and extends that space to five kites flying or in review at once. The essential features for creating, connecting, privacy and safety remain available on both plans.
- Is there a minimum age?
- Yes. KiteConnect is for people aged 18 and over.
